The Business Development and Assistance Program is one of the services offered by Indigenous Business Australia that provides assistance to eligible business owners, or those wanting to start a business. The program can assist an individual by way of providing access to important resources and training.

What's Available?

The Business Development and Assistance Program is provides services to Aboriginal and Torres Straight Islander business owners in order to help grow, or start their business. The services available include advice, training, and workshops, to help identify and achieve their business goals, as well as finance products. The program can provide access to relevant service providers, governing bodies, and assistance packages that are appropriate for the business in question.

Who's Eligible?

To apply, the following minimum requirements must be met:

  • The applicant must be of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander descent
  • The applicant must be at least 18 years of age
  • The applicant must own at least 50% of the business, or be applying on behalf of a business that is at least 50% owned by someone of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander descent
  • The applicant and business must be solvent

To apply, an applicant can get in contact with Indigenous Business Australia. There is no deadline to apply, as the program is ongoing.
